Announcements
Sadly, the ‘Rose & Crown’, the pub in the village, has closed recently which is a great disappointment to us, the villagers and our visitors alike. We very much hope that it will be taken on soon and any developments will be announced on the Pear Tree House website and on our listing with Airbnb as soon as they happen. Our apologies to you for any disappointment or inconvenience that this may cause.
We can highly recommend ‘Paradiso on the Forest’, a superb family-run Italian restaurant, which is just outside the village on the York Road and the ‘Bay Tree’ in Stillington which is only 2 miles away in the neighbouring village of Stillington. The ‘Durham Ox’ at Crayke, (a little under 5 miles away), has a very fine reputation for food. And ‘Miss Daisy’s Tea Rooms’ just across the road from Pear Tree House is wonderful for light bites, delicious homemade scones and cakes and tea & coffee.

We generally don’t offer short breaks. They may be available on request (minimum stay 5 nights) depending on availability at certain times. Price on application.
Our Charges
Our charges are continually under review to ensure value for money. We are committed to improving the quality of the experience for guests at Pear Tree House and hope that you will consider that our prices are very competitive.
Alternative Accommodation
In the unfortunate event that Pear Tree House is unavailable during the period in which you are interested, our other holiday cottage, Fox Cottage in Helmsley, North Yorkshire, may be available.
